Domestic Violence Awareness Month
and the Purple Porch Project

Since 2018, Harbor House has created more awareness through our Purple Porch Project in honor of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Lighting up residential porches, businesses, public buildings and schools with purple lights and yard signs symbolizes support for survivors of domestic violence and strengthens awareness in our community.

This year we are adding a new element to the event to help increase awareness and fundraising - a contest!
Both businesses and households will have an opportunity to participate in the contest for a chance to win prizes and, of course, bragging rights.

New in 2022 - PUPRPLE PORCH CONTEST
1. Decorate your residence or business storefront. Use lights, signs, plants, decorations, etc. to help bring attention and awareness to the purpose of the event. The more purple incorporated, the better! Purple is the color used to represent domestic violence awareness.

2. Take a photo and submit it to the contest. Click here to submit your photo.  or email kim.davis@harborhousewi.org

3. Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and/or customers to vote for you!
