HARBOR HOUSE’S PREMIER ULTRAVIOLET FUNDRAISING EVENT SET FOR OCTOBER 11

Join the collective brightness to help shine out the darkness of domestic violence.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 3rd, 2019

(Appleton, Wis. – 10/1/19) Harbor House Domestic Abuse Program’s premier fundraising event, Ultraviolet, is set for Friday, October 11 from 6:30 – 10 p.m. at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center (355 West Lawrence Street) in Appleton. Proceeds from the event support Harbor House’s work to break the stigma of domestic abuse, offer refuge to survivors of abuse and create pathways to empowerment.

This year, Ultraviolet will be taking guests to the City of Joy. Guests will enter a world of immersible art, live performances, new flavors, and imaginative experiences, which will open a new way to connect with their creativity, inner light, and way we can create a collective brightness to shine our darkness when we come together. This event will appeal to all of the senses and will be the highlight of a complete calendar of fundraising and awareness opportunities the organization has planned for Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October.

“We are excited to bring a world of immersible art, live performances, new flavors and imaginative experiences to the Fox Valley again this year! ‘The City of Joy’ will present guests with a new way to connect with their creativity, inner light, and with each other,” explained Morgan Kirchenwitz, Marketing and Events Manager at Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs.

Performances include live music by David Paul Martin, Luma Knotty, DJ Afrekete, interactive art experiences by a number of local artists including, Quartet Studios, and our headliner show by the Hiplet Ballerinas! The Hiplet Ballerinas are a performance group based out of the Chicago Multi-Cultural Dance Center. Specifically designed to make Ballet accessible by all, Hiplet™ is a fusion between classical pointe technique, Hip-Hop, and a variety of other urban dance styles. Guests will also be able to enjoy a menu of appetizers with grown-up twists on favorite childhood treats.

Opportunities to support Harbor House throughout the night include the Make a Difference Marketplace (filled with products from local artists), tarot/numerology readings, a flower cart, Pedi-cabs to the event and a giant “lite brite” fund-a-need wall.

Tickets are available online for $65. For more information about Ultraviolet purchase tickets, visit www.harborhousewi.org/ultraviolet.
