Transition of new Executive Director set for end of April 2020

April 8th, 2020

APPLETON– The Board of Directors and staff of Harbor House are excited to welcome Amber Schroeder as the new Executive Director of Harbor House beginning April 20, 2020. Amber Schroeder comes to us from Badgers United with a wealth of non-profit experience at national, state, and local levels. Harbor House’s long-time Executive Director, Beth Schnorr, will close her chapter as Executive Director on May 1, 2020.

“Harbor House is a truly special place that I feel so fortunate to have grown alongside with for the past 30 years. The years ahead will begin a new chapter for Harbor House as we welcome Amber as our Executive Director, and I feel confident she will be leading Harbor House to where we need to go,” explained Schnorr about the new chapter for the organization.

Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs was founded in 1984 and is the only agency in Outagamie and Calumet Counties committed to advocating for the awareness and prevention of domestic abuse. Harbor House has gone through lots of change and growth over the past few years and is looking forward to where Schroeder will take them.

“Harbor House is entering a new chapter, we are grateful for Beth and all she has done; and we are excited for this next step. The Board of Directors are all eager to see where Amber will lead this organization. She is coming to us with the leadership experience, energy, and vision that benefit Harbor House,” stated Cheryl Tiedt, Harbor House’s Board of Directors Chair.

In the coming years, the board and Harbor House staff look forward to continuing to serve its vital community mission, through increased programming and services in partnership with Schroeder as their leader.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Harbor House family and move back to my hometown. I’m blessed to stand on the shoulders of Beth and all of those that have built this incredible organization and look forward to joining the staff, partners and community to carry it forward well into future,” stated Schroeder.
