br> January 11th, 2021APPLETON – In an effort to better serve our community, Harbor House is proud to announce six promotions within the organization to better represent the programmatic work that includes: Shelter & Crisis Advocacy, Support Services, Legal and Systems Advocacy, Community Education & Prevention, Donor Relations & Communications, and Administration.
With over 15 years of service as a crisis advocate, adult advocate and children & youth advocate, Christy Coenen has been promoted to Sr. Manager, Support Services where she will focus her teams time on clients that do not reside in shelter which is Harbor House’s largest program area.
Karissa Holzknect has been promoted to Manager, Crisis & Shelter Advocacy after serving for four years as an overnight advocate and adult advocate. In this new role, Karissa will lead the team that manages our 24/7 crisis line and works with clients that reside in shelter.
Cassie McDonald has been promoted to Sr. Manager, Community Relations where she will work to share Harbor House’s mission with the community and engage them in the work through events, marketing and fundraising.
Donna Meiselwitz, having significantly expanded our legal advocacy program over the last four years as our legal advocate has been promoted to Sr. Manager, Legal & Systems Advocacy and overseeing legal advocacy, outreach and advocacy work in Calumet County, our Domestic Violence Intervention Program for offenders and systems work.
With over 15 years of experience as a children and youth advocate and a community educator, Tracy Plamann has been promoted to Manager, Community Education & Prevention where she will expand her role to oversee the education of youth and teens in our schools.
Kabao Vang, having served as office manager for over eight years, has been promoted to Sr. Manager, Administration where she oversees operations, finances and IT.
“Harbor House fulfills vitally important community roles in serving victims of domestic violence, both in and out of our shelter program, as well as in educating the community and partners on the many impacts of domestic violence. I am proud of each and every one of the members of our leadership team and look forward to their continued work to create a community free of domestic violence,” said Amber Schroeder, executive director.
In 2021, as we continue to serve victims of domestic violence, we also look to pursue expansion of our prevention services both for victims and offenders, discovering areas of greatest need of change within our legal systems in Outagamie and Calumet County, and growing the outreach program to further educate our community on domestic abuse and the services available at Harbor House.
