HARBOR HOUSE DOMESTIC ABUSE PROGRAM’S NEW EVENT – AMAZING RACE SET SATURDAY, APRIL 17

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 12th, 2021

APPLETON – Harbor House Domestic Abuse Program’s new event – Amazing Race is set to occur this Saturday, April 17, 2021. Based on the TV show the Amazing Race, Harbor House’s Amazing Race will be a service-area challenge throughout Outagamie and Calumet Counties. Challenges will combine physical, mental, and comical tasks to complete to get to the next clue with all teams working to make it to the finish line – all to support survivors of domestic violence!

Beyond its team challenges, Harbor House’s Amazing Race will educate participants in the work that Harbor House does for our community and will shine a light on the challenges victims of domestic abuse experience. “We are excited about our Amazing Race event. We are looking forward to educating our community in a fun and challenging way while also ensuring everyone’s safety and health,” said Amber Schroeder, Harbor House’s Executive Director. “Our staff and planning committee has worked hard to design an event that will keep everyone involved, volunteers, staff, participants, healthy and safe in our current COVID climate”

We are currently $10,000 short of our fundraising goal and would love our community to help us reach it! The community can still get involved by donating to the event campaign at give.harborhousewi.org/amazingrace. All the proceeds from Harbor House’s Amazing Race will directly support survivors of domestic abuse.

Harbor House’s Amazing Race is a test of wits, good humor, and teamwork, and will include 10 challenges. With staggered start times and different routes, teams will not be coming into contact with other teams throughout the race. Volunteers at each challenge will ensure that all equipment needed for each challenge is sanitized in between teams. Follow along for photo updates, to make a donation to support the event, and learn more about Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs at www.harborhousewi.org./amazingrace
