The “City of Joy” is Coming to Ultraviolet
Harbor House’s premier fundraising event, Ultraviolet is set to return this year with a full-line up of new experiences for guests to enjoy. Our theme of Ultraviolet this year is “City of Joy” and that is where guests will be taken as they enter the event on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Exhibition Center in Appleton.
“We are excited to bring a world of immersible art, live performances, new flavors and imaginative experiences to the Fox Valley again this year! ‘The City of Joy’ will present guests with a new way to connect with their creativity, inner-self, and our community,” announced Morgan Kirchenwitz, Harbor House’s Marketing and Events Manager.
Last year, many didn’t know what to expect, but knew they supported our mission. Attendees were awed with sights, tastes, sounds and feels – all to support shining a light for survivors of domestic violence. Our 2018 Ultraviolet exceeded our expectations, so our event committee had a big job to make this year’s event even better!
“Tonight was nothing short of amazing!! Congrats Harbor House for pulling off a life-changing, art-infused event!! Anyone can shove people into a hotel conference room, serve excess appetizers and auction off vacation packages to raise money… but these folks managed to export us all to a far away glow-in-the-dark land of mystique and music…. nicely done!!” – Rochelle Isaacson, Ultraviolet attendee
Creativity, connection and community are three main goals of this year’s event. We can guarantee that attendees will have one of the most fun nights of their adult life. 🙂 We have so much planned for the night, but here are a few of the BIG highlights we think everyone should know about!
LIVE performance by the Hiplet™ Ballerinas! Hiplet™ is a fusion between classical pointe technique, Hip-Hop, and a variety of other urban dance styles. These are bad a$$ and fierce ladies!
Interactive, light graffiti mural by Quartet Studios! See some similar pieces by Dave Razor.
Our GIANT Lite Bright fund-a-need board will be back with a new design to unveil (yes, just like the ones you used to play with as a kid). Thank you to Neenah Foundry for making our Lite Brite possible!
Peachy Fine Park: An adult park that includes an adult swing set, teeter-totter, games and more 🙂
Make a Difference Marketplace: our very own marketplace that will be filled with local artists pieces for guests to purchase. Support local artists and support our survivors!
Chili cheese dogs, Handi-Snacks, caramel apples and more flavors of familiar childhood favorites, but with a sophisticated twist by Bagelicious Black Tie.
Numerous “building spaces’ to explore – all have fun, interactive activities to connect with your creativity and each other.
Opportunity to come together to empower survivors of domestic violence by supporting programming at Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs.
